Doha Diet Consultation Clinic
As a nutritionist, I get to spend a lot of time in the kitchen playing around.
When I visited the hospital in Doha and spent time at the diet consultation clinic looking at different cases, I was hoping to visit the hospital kitchen to see how they prepared meals to their patients and how those meals were categorised into soft food, high-fibre food, low protein foods etc and how they were then delivered to the wards. I did all of that and I also got to see their storage fridge – room.
I interviewed the food safety and hygiene officer and the in-charge of the dietary department who took me on the fridge-room as well as the storage and the washing and cleaning area tour. 95% of the food was freshly prepared on the day. The measurements were very accurate. I met the chef and saw the bakery, vegetables and poultry areas.
It was an amazing experience and I learnt a lot from it. I interacted with some of the physicians and it is my intention to put all that priceless experience into good use when consulting with my clients.
Here are some of the pictures.
